UK Appreciation Day is scheduled 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at Kroger Field. In addition to new ways for employees to engage in the annual event, UK Appreciation Day will feature some traditional activities that employees have enjoyed over the years, including the T-shirt giveaway.

UK employees can vote now through March 31 for their favorite T-shirt design. The design with the most votes will be printed on T-shirts to be given away at the event. To vote, click here.

Department T-Shirt Orders

Department orders for Appreciation Day T-shirts must be completed through the Staff Senate online order form  no later than April 30, 2020. Every department that completes the form will receive a confirmation code on May 18 to bring when picking up orders between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., May 21, the day of the event. There will be plenty of parking at Kroger Field to pick up shirts that day, and permits are not required to park. Department T-shirts that are not picked up by 1:30 p.m. will be returned to the general Appreciation Day giveaway.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
