UK Law Names Murphy Assistant Dean
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 31, 2010) - Danny Murphy has been named assistant dean for Administration and Community Engagement at the University of Kentucky College of Law. He will officially start June 1.
As assistant dean, Murphy will be responsible for the college's nonacademic operations: supervising communications, alumni affairs, the Continuing Legal Education program, and IT departments, and he will spearhead the college's renewed efforts to enhance engagement with the university, the community and the state.
Murphy is a 1998 graduate of the College of Law and brings a wealth of experience in terms of law practice, community service and administration. He comes to UK from Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP in Lexington, and was formerly a member of McMurry & Livingston, PLLC, in Paducah, Ky., where he focused primarily in the area of real estate law. Importantly, he brings a depth of experience from his involvement and leadership in the communities in which he has lived and worked.
Murphy is currently a member of the board of directors of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, and is chair of the Public Policy Council for Commerce Lexington.
