UK Woman’s Club now accepting scholarship applications for 2024-25

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 30, 2024) — The University of Kentucky Woman’s Club (UKWC) is currently accepting applications for its 2024-25 tuition scholarships, awarded to undergraduate full- or part-time students. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is Friday, March 15, 2024.

Each year, the UKWC awards scholarships covering up to full tuition for undergraduate students who are Kentucky residents. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and must have completed at least 12-credit hours. Consideration will be given to nontraditional students with financial need. Members who are current members of the UKWC are ineligible.

Scholarship applications for the 2024-25 academic year can be found here. Applications must be mailed to the UK Woman’s Club Scholarship Committee, P.O Box 22172, Lexington, KY 40522, or emailed to ukwcmembers@gmail.com by Friday, March 15, 2024. Applicants must also complete the 2024-25 Federal Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) by Feb. 15. Applications and all required supporting documents received after the deadline will not be considered.

The UKWC Scholarship Committee will review the applications for final selection before the end of the spring semester. Finalists will attend a personal interview with the committee. The decisions of the UK Woman’s Club are final following the selection process.

The UKWC has funded many activities benefitting UK students since it was founded in 1909. Since 1973, the UKWC Aid Fund has provided 313 undergraduate scholarships totaling $932,000. The club looks forward to assisting more UK students with their academics in 2024-25.

With a rich tradition of more than 100 years of service, the UKWC provides a welcoming and enriching environment for people to be part of a group committed to supporting the campus and its students. UKWC scholarship and fellowship programs provide nearly $40,000 annually to students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. In addition, UKWC partners with other UK organizations and programs to provide needed services to the student body.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
