UK Women’s Forum annual conference registration open through Nov. 22

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 21, 2024)  The University of Kentucky Women’s Forum annual conference, “Standing Strong: Empowering Women to Define Their Path,” will be 9 a.m.-4:40 p.m. Dec. 10 in the UK Gatton Student Center.

The Women’s Forum annual conference is open to all UK faculty and staff, and is an opportunity to step into a day filled with professional development, networking, and community building.

The keynote speakers for this year’s conference are Tiffany Brown and Kendra Hill. Brown is the chief equity and implementation officer for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. She championed equity through racial and social justice at the Center for Social Justice within the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio. Hill is an entrepreneur and founder of Kendra, Scale My Business. Her professional background includes work as a staff assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives, a legislative/legal assistant at UNCF, a community partnerships manager at Google, and sales for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs. She has also produced international television and was recognized as a Forbes next 1000 honoree in 2021.

Session topics focus on career advancement, leadership, personal development, and health and wellness. Session titles include “From Uncertainty to Empowerment: Being Resilient in a Career,” “Building Realistic Habits,” “Women in Academia, Science and Beyond,” “Self-Care Ain’t Selfish, It’s Necessary: Empowering Women to Lead with Wellness.” 

The UK Women’s Forum is an organization for university faculty and staff. Its mission is to exert a leadership role in empowering, validating, informing, including and celebrating all women employed at the University of Kentucky by addressing the challenges, communicating issues and recognizing successes within the context of the workplace.
