UK Named 2018 Enhanced Affiliate of Kentucky Academy of Science
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 19, 2018) — The University of Kentucky has been named a 2018 Enhanced Affiliate of the Kentucky Academy of Science, a nonprofit organization fostering scientific discovery and understanding. KAS is extending free membership to all UK faculty, staff and students.
Becoming a member of KAS will grant access to job postings, research opportunities, research grant eligibility and scientific volunteer opportunities, and will provide members with a venue to present their research findings. Members will also receive electronic access to the KAS newsletter and Journal of the Kentucky Academy of Science, along with opportunities to publish research findings in the journal and discounted KAS annual meeting registration fees.
KAS benefits members by bringing scientists together to discuss their research, awarding grants, providing opportunities to share findings with the community, and to recognize outstanding science education and outreach through the KAS science education partnership with the Kentucky Science Center.
For the past 100 years, KAS has given approximately 4,000 members the opportunity to extend their education and research. With 23 enhanced affiliates, KAS is striving to further scientific education in Kentucky. For more information, visit www.kyscience.org.
