A Second Chance for A College Degree
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 3, 2009) − Whether you've always wanted to finish that college degree you started years ago or want to attend your first college class, the time is right to look into making those dreams a reality.
Robert Springer knows what it's like to have a goal in mind for many years. Working several jobs across the Central Kentucky area after his time at the University of Kentucky was cut short without earning a degree, he knew a college degree would help him land a job that could help change his future.
That desire led him to come back to the University of Kentucky to finish his degree. You can learn more about Springer's second college experience and the changes it made in his career by watching the video below.
What helped Springer decide to come back to college was his interaction with staff members at the UK Office of Adult Student Services. They were able to answer his questions about coming back to college.
If you have questions about earning your college degree, make plans to attend a free Back to School Workshop from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in Room 206 of the University of Kentucky Student Center.
Those attending the workshop will be able to have their questions about both undergraduate and graduate admissions answered. In addition, you can learn more information about adult student services, financial aid, academic advising, and the Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
Information will also be available on other opportunities to learn at UK through evening and weekend classes as well as correspondence, winter intersession, summer, and online courses.
The workshop is free and open to any adult returning to college or those wishing to attend college for the first time. UK employees who are interested are encouraged to attend, as well.
To register or for more information, please call (859) 257-3802 or (866) 900-4685, or visit http://www.uky.edu/AdultSS/contact.htm. This event is free and open to the public.
