Coach Stoops Radio Show on Campus Tonight

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 27, 2018) — The "Mark Stoops Show" takes place weekly and is usually a closed and invite-only event. But Monday, Aug. 27, this season’s first radio show will be hosted on campus and open to students.   At 6 p.m., Coach Mark Stoops will preview UK Football’s home opener versus Central Michigan with co-host Tom Leach, the "Voice of the Wildcats," in the Gatton Student Center at the social staircase. The pair will be taking questions from the audience as well as taking calls from fans around the state and on social media. The first 100 students who arrive with a valid UK student ID, between 5 and 6 p.m., eat free! Everyone will enjoy a special "Tailgating at Champions." The first 200 students who arrive will receive a free Kentucky Football poster. Students will also be able to check in at the show on the BBN Rewards app for a chance to win two tickets to the Justin Timberlake concert at Rupp Arena on Sept. 19. Special thanks to the Gatton Student Center, UK Dining and UK Campus Housing offices for hosting the event on campus.   The "Mark Stoops Show," which airs weekly on the UK Sports Network, gives fans across the country an opportunity to ask Stoops their questions. Fans can call the hotline at 1-800-606-GAME (4263) or 859-280-2287. Stoops also takes questions via Twitter. Fans choosing to go the social media route can tweet their questions to @UKSportsNetwork for a chance to be featured as the Twitter question of the week or comment on the @KentuckyFootball Facebook page, where video of the show streams live.

This is the second time the UK Sports Network Coach’s Radio Show series has been on campus. In January, the "John Calipari Show" visited the Champions Kitchen to give fans and students a chance to meet and speak with the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame men’s basketball coach.   The show is broadcast in Lexington on 630 WLAP, online at https://UKathletics.com and on UK Sports Network affiliates.
