In Lexington for the Holidays? Here are some ways you can get festive this season!

  • Lexington Christmas Parade — Be part of the state's largest holiday parade!
  • Ice Skating at Triangle Park — The lawn of Triangle Park is transformed into a winter wonderland. Join the fun and go ice skating in the heart of downtown Lexington.
  • ‘Nutcracker’ Dances Into Town  — Join in a holiday tradition celebrated by people around the world as the Moscow Ballet returns to the Bluegrass with their production of "The Great Russian Nutcracker" at the Singletary Center. 
  • 'Collage' — Rejoice in the holiday spirit at this popular Central Kentucky tradition, presented by the UK Choirs. "Collage" features more than 500 celebrated vocalists and musicians from UK School of Music and the Lexington community. One of the biggest annual events in the history of the UK School of Music, "Collage" is a fast-paced, visually stimulating concert that features music for the holidays from around the world.
  • ‘Open Studio’ — UK School of Art and Visual Studies will open its doors to the public this holiday season at the Art and Visual Studies Building on Bolivar Street. The campus and community are invited to discover and celebrate the work of UK's talented young visual artists and esteemed faculty. Student and faculty artists' work can be purchased at the event in time for the gift-giving season. 
  • ‘Celebration of Song’ — In the spirit of the season, join Alltech and UK Opera Theatre led by Director of UK Opera Theatre Everett McCorvey for an old-fashioned holiday sing-along at The Square.
  • Reindeer Ramble — The annual 5K and 10K event funds scholarships for kids attending YMCA summer camps. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite holiday sweater, Santa suit, or “holiday festive” attire and embrace the spirit of the holiday.
  • Southern Lights — A four-mile journey through a dreamland of light displays at the Kentucky Horse Park! Following the driving tour, there are also holiday craft merchants, the KHP Gift Shop, a petting zoo and much more!
  • ‘Jazzy Holiday Concert' — Bluegrass Area Jazz Ambassadors warm up the holiday season with the sounds of jazz. The 16th annual "Jazzy Holiday Concert" features Central Kentucky’s best jazz musicians.
  • Kentucky Ballet Theatre "The Nutcracker" — A holiday ballet for the whole family to enjoy.
  • Have a Photo Taken With Santa Paws — Hosted to benefit the Lexington Humane Society, come have you and your pet's photo taken with Santa. Complete with a costume contest, all animals are welcome! 
  • A Kentucky Christmas at Ashland — The Henry Clay home is decked out in holiday décor. Take candlelight tours of the mansion and grounds to see for yourself!
  • Visit an Upcoming Holiday Market Take a Saturday and visit one of Lexington’s many locally organized Holiday Markets this season. Whether you’re into art or baked goods, hand-beading or leather, there’s a market to suit everyone’s gifting needs and budgets.
