Internship and Career Fair Slated Sept. 26

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2018) -- The University of Kentucky welcomes almost 100 employers to campus for the Fall Semester Internship and Career Fair, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the Bill Gatton Student Center ballrooms.

The fall fair offers students an important opportunity to network and connect with employers representing a wide diversity of industries. Participating employers will range from large companies, like Kroger, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Dell and Toyota, to nonprofit organizations and service organizations, like Teach for America, the Council of State Governments and the U.S. Air Force.

Students from all class years are encouraged to consider attending, because employers are interested in connecting with students from all academic majors, and they’re eager to share information with students about internships, co-ops and job opportunities.

Ray Clere, director of UK’s Stuckert Career Center, said, “In recent years companies have been placing increased emphasis on fall semester recruiting. Our message to students is: Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with employers who are spending the day on our campus. It’s important to have career options, and career fairs are one of the best places to identify opportunities and make networking connections.”

No advance registration is required to attend the Fall Semester Internship and Career Fair, but students are encouraged to wear business-professional attire, and to bring multiple copies of their resume/CV.  The Fall Internship and Career Fair is a partnership between the Stuckert Career Center and the Graham Career Management Office in the Gatton College of Business and Economics.  Students are encouraged to review the list of employers attending the fall career fairs using the Handshake Jobs and Careers app and/or the UK Career Fair Plus app. Both are available for free through the Apple and Android app stores.
