Whether Lexington is your new home, or you’ve been here for a while, this growing city has something to offer everyone. Here is a list of things you should experience while you're here.
Keeneland - As a place best known for its horse racing, Keeneland has meets in both the fall and spring. What you may not know? Keeneland is open to the public every day. If you simply want to visit the beautifully landscaped grounds (maybe take a few great insta photos), have breakfast the track kitchen or enjoy the thrill of horse racing, Keeneland is a place for everyone.
Raven Run Nature Sanctuary - Raven Run is a unique, 734-acre nature sanctuary located just outside of Lexington. With seven trails to explore, this is the perfect place for hiking and wildlife viewing. The best part? The park borders the Kentucky River and has amazing views.
The Kentucky Theatre - The Kentucky Theatre is a familiar landmark to generations of Lexingtonians. The historic theater hosts movies, concerts and special events. Check to see what is going on at this downtown staple.
Lexington Farmers’ Market – The Lexington Farmers’ Market operates a year-round market on Saturdays in downtown Lexington in Cheapside Park, and markets are open various days throughout the week in other locations. This is a great place for fresh veggies, products and more from Kentucky farmers.
The Arboretum – Located on UK’s Campus, The Arboretum is the State Botanical Garden of Kentucky. This 100-acre green space offers three main features: the Walk Across Kentucky, the Home Demonstration Garden and the Kentucky Children's Garden. Come take a stroll, or just visit for the beautiful landscaping.
The Night Market – The Night Market is held on the first Friday of every month from May to December and is free and open to the public. This pop-up open air-market features local artists, businesses and more.
Triangle Park – Filled with water features, green space, and an outdoor café, Triangle Park is located in the heart of Lexington. From an outdoor movie series in the summer, to an ice-skating rink in the winter, there is always something going on at Triangle Park.
The Summit – One of the newest attractions in Lexington, The Summit at Fritz Farm features food, shopping and events throughout the week. The Summit includes over 60 street-level shops with more than 20 dining options featuring chef-inspired, local and regional flavors.
Kentucky Horse Park – Discover why they call Kentucky the horse capital of the world! Featuring shows, horse rides, museums and more, the horse park is a true Lexington experience.
