Apply Now to Join 2017 K Crew

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 6, 2017) — When students arrive at the University of Kentucky, they interact with hundreds of people. Chances are they don't remember most of them, but they likely remember the ones who helped make their transition to life at UK as smooth and efficient as possible — like members of the K Crew.

The Office of New Student and Family Programs is now accepting applications for 2017 K Crew. K Crew leaders will have the opportunity to mentor and lead incoming students during K Week, gain leadership experience and meet new people all across campus. The position includes a $50 stipend upon successful completion of required training sessions and participation in K Week events.

“Every year, hundreds of student leaders on K Crew lead new students on UK's campus, welcoming them into the Big Blue Nation. We are going to give next year's incoming class the best K Week ever, filled with great memories, new friendships, and a sense of excitement about being a Wildcat,” said Kasey Borchardt, assistant director in New Student and Family Programs.

“K Crew is a unique opportunity to lead a group of new students as well as refine and shape your own leadership skills,” said K Week student program assistant Pete Comparoni. “Being on K Crew was a great way for me to get involved and helped lay the foundation of my understanding of student leadership.”
