Become a Super Trooper at Late Night Film Series

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 10, 2010) – Are you looking for something to do on Thursday and Friday night? Well,  grab a box of popcorn and join the Late Night Film Series for a double special.

On Nov. 11 at 10 p.m., the film series will be presenting “Super Troopers” in Worsham Theater. Then, on Nov. 12 the Cats Den ends the week with the movie, “Tank Girl,” at 10 p.m. in Worsham Theater.

In the movie “Super Troopers,” five Vermont state troopers, who are known to be avid pranksters with a knack for screwing up, find themselves try to save their jobs when the state threatens to downsize its budget. In order to show that they are useful, the five troopers solve a local murder and try to take down a drug ring.

The movie “Tank Girl” begins in 2033, after a comet hits Earth, turning it into a wasteland and altering the atmosphere, making it so that there has been no rain for the last 11 years. Water is extremely scarce, and what little is available is controlled by the Water & Power Corporation Government. Tank Girl, a.k.a. Rebecca. and her friends fight against the corporation. While incarcerated, Tank Girl and her new friend Jet Girl break out and steal a tank and a jet. After meeting some mutant kangaroo/humans, and rescuing her little girl, the gang then precedes to take out Water and Power.

The Late Night Film is held every Thursday and Friday in Worsham Theater in 10 p.m. All Late Night Film Series movies are shown free for students. The Late Night Film Series and its movies are sponsored by the Student Center Director’s Office, a division of Student Affairs.
