Brighten Your Day With DIY Living Art
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 6, 2017) — Do it yourself with University of Kentucky Student Activities Board, which will offer a DIY Terrarium Workshop from 6–8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in the Hub of the William T. Young Library, Room B108c. The workshop will show students not only how to create their own mini terrarium but also how to maintain it.
The terrariums that will add a cool new style to students' residence hall rooms or apartments. They will be constructed with assorted fairy plants, succulents, soil and pebbles with the option of two different open vases. Students are encouraged to bring their own glass containers as there will be a limited numbers of containers provided.
“SAB has hosted arts workshops in the past, but we’ve never ventured into something botanical, or living art,” said Julia Nickle, director of Cultural Arts. “I hope this will be a creative way to help students relax during a busy time of the school year and brighten up their residence hall rooms!”
SAB brings more than 60 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff, and the greater Lexington community.
