Grant Hart to Play Cat's Den

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 9, 2010) – After the Seedy Seeds stormed the stage on Oct. 12, the Cats Den is prepared to do it again, this time with nationally renowned recording artist Grant Hart. On Nov. 11 at 8 p.m,. Hart will bring his organically styled rock with catchy melodies and vintage sound to the University of Kentucky. This concert will also highlight a performance from Margaret Darling of the Seedy Seeds.

For over 30 years, Hart has fashioned music that filled ears across the nation with glorious sounds. Ever since Grant Hart began playing professionally at the young age of 13, he has made a legend of himself.

The former Hüsker Dü member and his bandmate, Bob Mould, were once compared to John Lennon and Paul McCartney. With singles like “Zen Arcade” and “Candy Apple Grey,” Hüsker Dü burned up the charts and soon became one of the most influential bands of the 1980s.

The band broke up in the late ‘80s, but that did not stop Hart. Since the break-up, he has released more than five solo albums; his latest,“ Hot Wax,” has been described as essential and harmonious, while exuding a modern flair. Hart is also known for his soulful poetry and bold graphic designs. Grant Hart is a jack-of-all-trades.

The Cat’s Den is located in the University of Kentucky Student Center. This will be Grant Hart’s first performance on the UK campus. Hart’s concert is also featured as a Tally Cats event. Admission to the event is free and will begin at 8 p.m. For more information about the event, contact Trey Harris at catsdenuk@gmail.com.
