International Students Enjoy America's Thanksgiving

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 23, 2009) – University of Kentucky Provost Kumble Subbaswamy will welcome the university's international students for America's version of a day celebrated in many different ways around the world, a day to join with friends and family in giving thanks for Earth's bounty.

The UK Alumni Association and the UK Office of International Affairs will welcome all international UK students and their families to attend the fourth annual International Student Thanksgiving Dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 5-7 p.m., at the King Alumni House, located on the corner of Rose Street and Euclid Avenue.

This family-friendly event has quickly become a holiday tradition at UK. The time-honored Thanksgiving feast will include turkey with dressing, cranberry sauce, corn pudding and pumpkin pie. Vegetarian options will also be available.

International students who wish to attend should register at http://www.ukalumni.net/thanksgiving2009 or contact Leslie Hayes at 859-257-3705.
