LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 23, 2017) — Students are invited to learn more about the local transit system with the Bus Stop Hop interactive tour tonight, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The event will depart from the W.T. Young Library bus stop, and will end at the bus stop at Rose Street and Euclid Avenue.

The Bus Stop Hop will give students an opportunity to get to know their new city by bus. Participants will learn all about the local transit system, including accessibility, trip planning and how to load a bike on a bus. Bus Stop Hop riders will also have the opportunity to answer trivia questions for the chance to win prizes. The event is sponsored by University of Kentucky Transportation Services and the UK Office of Sustainability.

Lextran – which is free to all UK students, faculty and staff under the BluPass program – travels throughout 22 different city routes extending throughout and beyond the UK campus into the Lexington community. BluPass encompasses all Lextran routes, both on and off campus, allowing UK students, faculty and staff to travel to, from, and around campus while also accessing the city.

Through the end of July, BluPass has delivered more than 1.7 million rides to members of the campus community. The BluPass partnership began in July 2015, and was subsequently extended through June 2019.
