Cheap Seats: 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 2, 2012) — Missed "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" in the theaters? See it before it hits stores at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 and Wednesday, April 4, in Worsham Theater. Tickets are $1 and free popcorn is included.
Based on the best-selling series written by Steig Larsson, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" stars Daniel Craig ("Casino Royale," "Cowboys and Aliens") and Rooney Mara ("The Social Network," "Youth in Revolt"). Craig plays Mikael Blomkvist a journalist hired to solve the mysterious disappearance of a girl in the 1960s. Mara plays Lisbeth Salander “the girl with the dragon tattoo,” a private investigator. The two join forces in search of the missing girl.
“‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ is a great movie,” said Brandon Payne, Student Activities Board director of cinema. “Cheap Seats is a way we’re providing students to see new movies cheap and on-campus.”
Cheap Seats is a series provided by the Student Activities Board’s Cinema Committee to bring the latest movies before they’re released on video.This is the last Cheap Seats of the semester and is partnered with the Education and Advocacy program at the Center for Community Outreach to generate awareness for mental disabilities in April.
The Student Activities Board brings more than 100 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff and the greater Lexington community.
