UK Students to Present Their Discoveries

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 6, 2011) — Students and faculty members from one of the University of Kentucky's most exciting programs for undergraduates will present a semester's worth of discoveries tomorrow at the Discovery Seminar Program (DSP) Showcase. The fall 2011 showcase will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the UK Student Center Grand Ballroom.

Now in its 16th year, the UK DSP seeks to connect students with professors at UK who offer seminars on such topics as the environment, religion and politics, social inequality, community service, music and art. The DSP aims to provide first-year students with the most satisfying, exciting version of higher learning: small classes with engaging, challenging discussions and outstanding professors who are teaching about their work at the frontiers of knowledge.

The showcase is free and open to the public.

The DSP is part of the UK Chellgren Center for Undergraduate Excellence, a collaboration among prestigious undergraduate programs at the university, including Education Abroad, the Office of Undergraduate Research, the Honors Program, Intercollegiate Debate, and the Office of External Scholarships.
