Nonprofit Internship Interview Night Connects Students to Community Organizations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 27, 2021) — The University of Kentucky Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement and the Stuckert Career Center, under the Office for Student Success, are excited to host the annual Nonprofit Internship Interview Night on Sept. 8, 2021. The event will be held in person at the Stuckert Career Center from 5:30-8 p.m. Over 30 nonprofits will be participating.

During the Nonprofit Internship Interview Night event, students will have the opportunity to interview with up to five organizations in a speed-dating style format. Each interview will be 30 minutes long and will provide students valuable time to connect with Lexington community organizations. While many of these internships are unpaid, students will gain valuable experiences that will help build the skills required to earn a first job out of college.

To connect with area nonprofit and community organizations, students can register for the upcoming Nonprofit Internship Interview Night through the registration form here. Students can view all the position descriptions submitted by organizations here on the Handshake event page. Interested students will have the opportunity to connect with organizations interested in hiring UK student interns! For more information on this Interview Night, please visit the website

Registration closes on Sept. 1 at 11:59 p.m. Be sure to register early to secure your interview times with organizations. Interview slots are limited.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
