Priority Registration Tips and Tricks

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 28, 2022) — Priority Registration for Summer and Fall 2022 classes starts on March 28 and goes through April 19. Now is the time to make sure you are ready for when your registration window opens so that you can pick the classes you want on the days and times that best fit your needs.

Here are top tips for Priority Registration:

  • Some classes have limited sections or available seats, so make sure you’re ready to register as soon as your window opens. You are more likely to get the classes you want and need. Check when your registration window opens on myUK and set a reminder on your phone.

  • Scheduling your classes during Priority Registration allows you time to make room for other things in your daily schedule, like campus involvement, research and internships.

  • Build your schedule around your own preferences. If you’re a morning person, find those early sections. And don’t forget to give yourself a break so that you can study and eat.

  • Use the registration tools available in myUK. Plan out your courses so that you are ready to register when the window opens. Be sure to use the pre-register check to make sure you’re all set.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
