LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 8, 2021) — Beginning Monday, Dec. 13, University of Kentucky Transportation Services will offer 2022 student spring semester parking permits for sale online and on-site.

The following permits will be available: periphery (K) and off-peak (O). To learn more about parking permits in general, visit the Transportation Services website.

Online orders that are placed by noon Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, can be mailed. Orders placed after that date and time must be picked up in person at the Transportation Services’ customer service center.

Online sales will end at noon Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, after which date all permits must be purchased in person.

The UK Transportation Services’ office is located in the Press Avenue Garage, 721 Press Ave. Regular office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. An exterior express window is available for those who prefer to pick up their permit without coming inside.

Please be aware that any outstanding parking citations must be paid before a new permit can be issued. Citations can be paid online or in person.

Eligible students who do not have a parking permit or who want to upgrade from a periphery (K) permit may submit a lottery request online for commuter (C) and residential (R) permits, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. Drawings are typically held two to three weeks after the beginning of each semester and notification is sent to lottery winners via email.

Spring semester off-peak (O) permits cost $80, while semester periphery (K) permits are $136. For details about parking areas, see the daytime student parking map and off-peak parking map.

The UK Transportation Services’ customer service center will be closed during Winter Break — Dec. 24-31 — but online sales will be available during that time.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
