LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 1, 2023) — Beginning Monday, Dec. 4, University of Kentucky Transportation Services will offer 2024 student spring semester parking permits for sale online and on-site. These permit options are for students who chose to purchase a fall 2023 semester only periphery permit, as opposed to the full academic year.

The following permits will be available: commuter periphery (CK), residential periphery (RK) and off-peak (O). To learn more about parking permits in general, visit the Transportation Services website.

All permits must be picked up in person at the Transportation Services Customer Service Center.

UK Transportation Services’ Customer Service Center is located at 721 Press Ave., in the Press Avenue Garage. Regular office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. An exterior express window is also available as a pick-up option for pre-ordered permits, from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please allow a minimum of 24 hours from the time of purchase until pick-up.

Please also be aware that any outstanding parking citations must be paid before a new permit can be issued. Citations can be paid online, in person or over the phone. UK Transportation Services can be reached by phone at 859-257-5757.

Eligible residential students who do not have a parking permit or who want to upgrade from a residential periphery (RK) permit may submit a lottery request online for residential (R) permits, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. Please see this page for information about residential permits.

Eligible commuter students who do not have a parking permit or who want to upgrade from a commuter periphery (CK) permit may submit a lottery request online for commuter (C) permits, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. Please see this page for details about commuter permits.

Drawings are typically held two to three weeks after the beginning of each semester and notification is sent to lottery winners via email.

Spring semester off-peak (O) permits cost $84, while semester residential and commuter periphery permits are $136. For details about parking areas, see the daytime student parking map and the off-peak parking map.

Spring 2024 parking permits must be displayed when parking on campus no later than Monday, Jan. 8.

UK Transportation Services’ Customer Service Center will be closed during Winter Break — Monday, Dec. 25, 2023, through Monday, Jan. 1, 2024 — but online sales will be available during that time. The office will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2.

If you have questions or need more information, please email UK Transportation Services.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
