Spring 2026 student parking permit sales start Dec. 8
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 5, 2025) — University of Kentucky Transportation Services will offer 2026 student spring semester parking permits for sale online and on-site starting 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8.
These permit options are for students who do not currently have a parking permit, but need one, or those who chose to purchase a fall 2025 semester periphery permit, as opposed to the full academic year.
The following permits will be available:
- Commuter Periphery (CK)
- Residential Periphery (RK)
- Off-Peak (O)

Permits purchased between Dec. 8 and Dec. 19 may be mailed to a home mailing address or picked up in person at our customer service center. Permits purchased after Dec. 19 must be picked up in person.
Important details:
- Have your vehicle information available (make, model, color and license plate number).
- The UK Transportation Services office is located at 721 Press Ave. Hours are 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. An exterior express window is also available as a pick-up option for preordered permits, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Allow at least 24 hours from the time of purchase until pick-up.
- Outstanding parking citations must be paid before a new permit can be issued. Citations can be paid online, in person, or over the phone by calling 859-257-5757.
- Student parking maps are available online.
UK Transportation Services will be closed for winter break, from Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. Online sales will be available during that time, but permit pick-up will not. The office will reopen 7:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5.
Spring 2026 permits must be displayed when parking on campus no later than Monday, Jan. 12.
Student Permit Lottery
Students who currently have a residential periphery (RK) or commuter periphery (CK) permit but would like to upgrade to a residential (R) or commuter (C) permit may submit a lottery request online, provided eligibility requirements are met.
Lottery drawings are typically held two to three weeks after the beginning of each semester and notification is sent to lottery winners via email. When joining a waitlist, be sure to review the list, ensuring that your first pick is your top priority.
