Stuckert Career Center to offer summer experiential education scholarships

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 6, 2026) — The University of Kentucky’s Stuckert Career Center, a unit housed in the Office for Student Success, is now accepting applications for the Experiential Education Scholarship, a competitive funding opportunity designed to support students pursuing unpaid or minimally compensated experiential learning opportunities this summer.
The scholarship is open through April 15. Students can apply through Handshake by selecting the “Register” option on the application page.
The Experiential Education Scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students participating in internships, co-ops or field experiences between May and August 2026. Awards ranging from $500 to $1,000 will be granted to approximately five to 10 students to help offset costs directly related to their experience.
The program is designed not only to provide financial assistance but also to enhance students’ professional growth. Recipients will participate in the Wildcat Works professional development program and complete a series of reflective and professional assignments, including an experience evaluation, donor thank-you letter, final expense report and a student spotlight feature.
To be considered, applicants must be currently enrolled UK students in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA and at least one semester of completed coursework. Eligible students must also have secured a confirmed experiential education opportunity that is unpaid or minimally compensated.
The application process includes submission of a resume, estimated expenses, two short essays and participation in a 30-45 minute interview. While all eligible students are encouraged to apply, selection for funding is competitive and not guaranteed.
Scholarship funds must be used for expenses directly related to the experiential learning experience and cannot be applied toward university tuition or fees.
Students with questions about eligibility or what qualifies as experiential education can contact the Stuckert Career Center at expblue@uky.edu or visit the Stuckert Career Center website for additional information at studentsuccess.uky.edu/stuckert-career-center.
