LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 10, 2024) – Midterm week is fast approaching and now is an important time for students to familiarize themselves with the resources available on campus. The University of Kentucky provides an abundance of tutoring services, study rooms and more to aid students during the busy week ahead. Here are just a few of the many excellent resources made available through the university:

  • Visit The Study. The Study offers free, drop-in tutoring services for a variety of 100- and 200-level math, science and business courses. Certified tutors there can help with homework, exam prep, study strategies and more. The service is free and no appointment is necessary. Find more information here. Also available is a plethora of free tutoring services available for specific courses. Find those resources here. The Study also offers Open Study Space at both its locations (The Study Central at Boone Center and The Study North at Jewell Hall), 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday.
  • Meditate and workout. Dedicating plenty of time to studying serves a crucial role in ensuring success for midterms, but taking quality breaks to recover holds an important role as well. Time away from studies prevents studies from becoming burnt out, exhausted and overwhelmed. Working out at the gym offers an outlet for students to channel their anxiety productively. Students will leave their workouts feeling refreshed and reinvigorated for their midterm preparations. Students can visit Campus Recreation Centers. If students are looking for an exercise more laid-back, Headspace offers guided meditations for free to all eligible students.
  • Reserve a study room. Struggling to find a quiet place to study? Interested in meeting with a study group to prepare for exams? The William T. Young Library and Fine Arts Library offer the perfect spaces to study alone or with classmates. You can reserve a study space here. If you are interested library hours across campus, visit this link to see a full schedule.
  • Create a schedule. Midterm preparation can feel, and often become, quite chaotic. Schedules give students the ability to organize their schedules and accomplish their goals in an orderly fashion. Students can print a timemanagementschedule provided by Transformative Learning’s Integrated Success Coaches to organize their week into hour blocks dedicated to classes, studying, taking breaks and other obligations. It also has a “schedule your joy” section to ensure that students devote time to caring for themselves and recovering.
