UK Advising to host ‘Gettin’ Classy’ registration event
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 15, 2024) — Registering for classes can be an overwhelming experience, but the University of Kentucky Office of Academic Advising, housed in the Office for Student Success, is ready to support students in that process.
Starting Nov. 18 and continuing through Nov. 22, students can attend “Gettin’ Classy” — a campus-wide event to register for Winter and Spring 2025 classes.
Each day, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., advisors for all colleges will assist with registration, plan schedules and verify Spring 2025 schedules. Partner offices will be available to help students with HOLDS from financial, student accounts, transportation and more.
If students have already registered for classes, advisors are available to review schedule, ensuring students are enrolled in the right classes and on the right path to degree completion. Students can save both time and money by avoiding unnecessary courses that don’t align with their degree requirements.
“We know that the process of registering for classes can be stressful for our students, and it tends to happen at a time in the academic calendar that is already high pressure,” Adam Smith, executive director of academic advising, said. ““Gettin’ Classy’ is UK’s way of taking an often intimidating process and hosting it in a low-stress atmosphere. Our advising community and campus partners look forward to helping students set-up their schedules in a fun and easy-to-access environment.”
Students are encouraged to bring their laptop or iPad to register for classes while at the event. For more information about “Gettin’ Classy” or to RSVP, click here.
Outside of “Gettin’ Classy,” advisors work to put students on a path to success before, during and after their college careers. They offer individualized support, guidance and connection to resources to realize and achieve academic, career and personal goals.
