Musselman Cards Under-Par Round on Final Day at Bulls Bay

Final ResultsAWENDAW, S.C. – Sophomore Cooper Musselman shined for the Kentucky men’s golf team on the last day of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate, finishing with a 1-under, 71 for his final round. Overall, the Wildcats finished in 11th place with a 19-over, 883.What Coach Brian Craig is Saying:“We did not have our best week by any means, but there were many things learned that will help us as we start our postseason journey. We need to get better at the little things, the basic up and downs, to putting from 30 to 40 feet, and making the right decisions on the course. I believe in this team, we will keep working to get better and striving to make the Big Blue Nation proud.”About the Lineup:Musselman finished with a 1-under, 71, on the day, ending the tournament with a 7-over par score and in a tie for 46th overall. He improved each day and shaved at least one shot off of his round throughout the week. Musselman posted four birdies on the final 18, two on the opening nine and just as many in the second. Senior David Snyder led the Wildcats for the tournament and finished in a tie for 26th overall. During the third round of play, the senior was 1-over, 73, with three birdies to finish out the day.Freshman Lukas Euler finished his first start of the spring season with a 7-over score, tied with Musselman for 46th place. During the third round of play he finished with a 2-over, 74, carding two birdies in the opening nine. Junior Stephen Stallings finished in a tie for 44th on the individual leaderboard, closing out the third day with a 3-over, 75, and two birdies on the day. Sophomore Tyler ‘Chip’ McDaniel completed the tournament in a tie for 66th, carding a tournament-low 1-over, 73 on the closing round of play.The Tournament Field:South Carolina won the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate for the second consecutive year, finishing the tournament with a 23-under, 841. Keenan Huskey finished in first place overall on the individual leaderboard with an 11-under par score.College of Charleston, No. 8 Auburn, No. 10 Wake Forest, and Charleston Southern all finished in the top five at the end of the 54-hole tournament.  Up Next for the Cats:Kentucky will return to action for the SEC Championships Friday, April 15 at Seaside Golf Course in St. Simons Island, Ga.
