Kentucky Looks to Punch Ticket to Orange Beach on Senior Night

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Kentucky women's soccer team will be looking to book its spot in Orange Beach for the 2015 Southeastern Conference Tournament on Senior Night Thursday, as UK is in search of its first win since Sept. 27 against Arkansas. The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and be televised live on the SEC Network+ with Neil Price and J.D. Stephenson.

The Wildcats will be facing an LSU team fresh off a 1-1 90-minute draw against the South Carolina Gamecocks, where the match was called due to player safety and field conditions after regulation.

The Senior Night festivities will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m. ET where UKWS will honor its eight seniors Kennedy Collier, Jackie Dallaire, Danielle Fitzgerald, Allie Gorgol, Olivia Jester, Cara Ledman, Courtney Raetzman and Cailey Warfel in a pre-match ceremony.

The Wildcats have gone winless in five straight matches, but still have a chance to get to the SEC Tournament. Currently, UK is in a four-team tiebreaker with Tennessee, Georgia and Vanderbilt for the final three spots in Orange Beach. Mississippi State is also alive in the hunt just a point off those four teams. Kentucky getting a win would secure a spot in the tournament, but the Wildcats can also get to the tournament with a loss or draw as well depending on other results around the league. LSU has clinched a spot in next weekend's tournament.

The Bengal Tigers of LSU are 10-4-4 on the season. LSU is 2-4-0 away from Baton Rouge this season, whilst being undefeated at home this year at 8-0-4. The Tigers have a three match unbeaten streak going right now in the SEC, its longest unbeaten stretch of the season. Jorian Baucom leads LSU in scoring with 13 goals and two assists for 28 points on the year. The Tigers are led in net by goalkeeper Catalina Rubiana, who has played in 18 matches and has a GAA of 1.06 and six shutouts.

Kentucky leads the all-time series with LSU 12-4-2, and has won two matches in a row over the Tigers. The last time LSU visited UK, the Wildcats won 3-1 at the UK Soccer Complex on Senior Day. That match was tight in the second half, before Zoe Swift scored two second-half goals to lead UK to victory.
