Ashley Dusek Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Complete List of 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District team was released Thursday afternoon, with junior Ashley Dusek landing on the District Two squad.

Dusek is one of six selections from the district, joining Temple’s Kyra Coundourides, Howard's Khaila Donaldson, Robert Morris’ April Krivoniak, West Virginia’s Hannah Shreve and Penn State’s Haleigh Washington.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month. 

On the court, the East Bernard, Texas native leads the defense with a team-best 4.60 digs per set and has picked up double-digit dig numbers in 21-of-22 matches. In her career, she sits in fifth in school history in career scoops (998) in the 25-point rally scoring era and 10th in assists (164). Dusek is the reigning SEC Libero of the Year. 

In the classroom, Duesk is also highly successful. The junior currently holds a 3.50 GPA while majoring in integrated strategic communications.

Dusek and the Wildcats are back in action on Friday, Nov. 4 when they travel to Auburn. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. ET, airing live on SEC Network+ and the WatchESPN app.
