Dailey, Edmond Continue Earning SEC Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Two Kentucky volleyball players - sophomore Olivia Dailey and freshman Leah Edmond – earned Southeastern Conference honors on Monday for their performances against Mississippi State and Tennessee. Dailey was named SEC Setter of the Week for the third-consecutive week while Edmond was named Freshman of the Week for the second-consecutive week and the fourth time overall this season.

The award is Dailey’s third SEC honor of her career. She was also named FloVolleyball National Player of the Week once this season. Edmond has been named Freshman of the Week four times in her career and also garnered one SEC Player of the Week nod.

Dailey earned the award after producing a combined 81 assists during the weekend. Dailey had 41 assists in the win over Mississippi State, three away from the 25-point rally scoring era three-set record. Dailey followed that performance with another 40 assists against Tennessee. The Trussville, Alabama, native helped the Wildcats hit at a blistering .351 attacking clip over the weekend, .156 points higher than their opponents.

Edmond continued to rack up kills last weekend. She accounted for 19 kills, one off her career-high, for the second-time in two weeks in the win over Mississippi State. During the victory, the squad tied a 25-point rally scoring era three-set record with 54 kills. Edmond hit at an astounding .403 percentage in the two wins while racking up 33 kills and also tossed in eight digs and one service ace.

Kentucky looks to stay undefeated in the SEC with a match against Arkansas in Memorial Coliseum. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. and will be shown live on SEC Network+ and the WatchESPN App.
