Community invited to audition for WUKY's 2024 Voice of Pride

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 1, 2024) — WUKY-FM Radio will host the 8th annual “Voice of Pride” Karaoke Contest leading up to the 2024 Lexington Pride Festival this month. 

Participants will perform one song in front of a panel of judges at preliminary auditions located around downtown Lexington. The finalists from the preliminaries will face-off on the Lexington Pride Festival Stage on June 29 to win the coveted title of the 2024 Voice of Pride. Please prepare a different song for the second round of the competition at the Main Stage of the Lexington Pride Festival.  No songs with profanity or adult content will be allowed on the Main Stage. Contestants of all ages are encouraged but individuals under the age of 18 must have a signed form by a guardian to participate. Contestants under the age of 21 will be able to audition at two of the preliminaries. Past winners are not eligible to participate as a contestant.

Grand prize

The overall winner will be recorded at WUKY and their music will air on WUKY for thousands of listeners. They will also perform on stage at the Lexington Pride Festival on June 29.

Preliminary auditions

May 2: Old North Bar and Kitchen, 101 W Loudon Ave, Suite 116. Sign up 7-8 p.m. Contest at 8 p.m. Contestants under 21 years of age are encouraged to attend this audition.

May 14: Crossings of Lexington, 117 North Limestone. Sign up 8-9 p.m. Contest at 9 p.m.

June 18: Ole Hookers Bait and Tackle, 203 South Limestone. Sign up 8-9 p.m. Contest at 9 p.m.

June 18: Crossings of Lexington, 117 North Limestone. Sign up 8-9 p.m. Contest at 9 p.m.

June 27: Old North Bar and Kitchen, 101 W Loudon Ave Suite 116. Sign up 7-8 p.m. Contest at 8 p.m. Contestants under 21 years of age are encouraged to attend this audition.
