LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 5, 2024) — This year, due to ongoing renovations in Memorial Coliseum, the DanceBlue Marathon is moving to one of the most legendary locations in college basketball: Rupp Arena. Dancers will have the opportunity to dance all night long on the iconic floor where the Wildcats play.

Starting at 8 p.m. on April 6, dancers will take the floor for 24 hours to raise money for the DanceBlue Clinic. Friends and family are welcome to cheer their loved ones on from the stands of Rupp Arena or watch the DanceBlue livestream.

Not dancing but still want to experience DanceBlue in Rupp Arena? Consider volunteering!

Volunteers can sign up for one of twelve shifts. To sign up, volunteers must be 16 or older and purchase a volunteer ticket. Each general shift ticket is $30 and each meal hour shift ticket is $15. Discounts are available to UK students and staff with discount codes “UKSTUDENT” and “UKEMPLOYEE”.

All volunteers who sign up by March 11 at 8 a.m. will be guaranteed a t-shirt. Tickets and more information are available here.

DanceBlue is a University of Kentucky student-run organization that fundraises year-round and culminates in a 24-hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon. Over $20 million has been raised since 2006, making DanceBlue one of the largest student-run philanthropies in the South-Eastern Conference. As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
