DanceBlue participating in 6th annual Commonwealth Cup Jan. 26-31

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 26, 2026) — University of Kentucky’s DanceBlue will participate in the sixth annual Commonwealth Cup fundraiser Jan. 26-31. The Commonwealth Cup is a virtual fundraising effort that unites college students across Kentucky in support of one cause: raising money to fight pediatric cancer.
This year, the Commonwealth Cup is a fundraising drive between DanceBlue, University of Louisville’s RaiseRED and Western Kentucky University’s Dance Big Red. For one week, all three schools will operate under one fundraising theme: United We Dance. A play on the Commonwealth’s motto, placing an emphasis on the collective efforts for Kentucky rather than competition.
Through Jan. 31, the Commonwealth Cup will utilize each organization’s social media platforms to encourage students’ fundraising. Last year, participating schools were able to collectively raise $155,509. DanceBlue individually raised $90,241.
With hopes to top last year’s fundraising efforts, DanceBlue is hosting fundraising challenges each day of the Commonwealth Cup. Stay tuned on social media to engage with fundraising templates and promotional content during Commonwealth Cup.
“We are so excited to kick off the 2026 Commonwealth Cup, a week-long fundraiser that unites the state of Kentucky in fundraising and awareness efforts against pediatric cancer,” said Raychel Stone, DanceBlue fundraising chair.
In addition to a new collective tagline, all three schools will participate in a joint restaurant night at respective Panera Bread locations Thursday, Jan. 29. In Lexington, DanceBlue supporters and participants can enjoy delicious food and receive five spirit points for attending. The Lexington fundraiser is 4-8 p.m. at Panera Bread, 2230 Nicholasville Road in Lexington.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
