LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 20, 2017) — The University of Kentucky will celebrate Engineers Day, or E-Day, a celebration of everything engineering has to offer, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. The event will be located in the engineering complex on campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

E-Day is sponsored this year by Lexmark, a recognized and lauded leader in imaging and output solutions that help people and organizations better manage their information, improve processes and reduce their costs.

"We are proud to have our event sponsored by a Lexington-based global company that is dedicated to educational excellence, especially in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math," said E-Day Coordinator Chelsea Hansing.

At E-Day, students, families and anyone interested in engineering and computer science will be able to explore what makes our 21st-century world work and what it's like to be a UK engineering student or researcher. Approximately 150 demonstrations, exhibits and contests hosted by UK students and departments, government organizations and industry will be featured.

During the event, Chick-fil-A, Subway and Starbucks in Bowman’s Den will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and there are also many privately-owned restaurants within walking distance of campus.

E-Day is perfect for school-aged children from elementary all the way through high school; especially those interested in learning more about the exciting things engineers and computer scientists do. There are many things to amaze, inform and delight attendees of all ages at the event.

Free parking is available in Parking Structure #5, located at 409 South Limestone (next to Kennedy Bookstore). Buses and other large vehicles should park in the E/C lot on Scott Street.

E-Day will also be celebrated from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. CST Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Paducah Campus of the UK College of Engineering.
