LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 1, 2016) Grammy-nominated artist Joe Bonamassa is touring North America and making the University of Kentucky Singletary Center for the Arts the next stop on his extensive tour. Bonamassa is set to bring his rockin' blues to campus 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Starting at the age of 12 opening for B.B. King, Joe Bonamassa has continuously grown his own style of music. This sound is evident in his 16 solo albums including his debut "A New Day Yesterday" (2000), "So, It's like that" (2002), Grammy-nominated collaboration "Seesaw" (2013), "Different Shades of Blue" (2014) and "Blues of Desperation" (2016).

Throughout his career, Bonamassa has thoughtfully honed influences from European artists such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Rory Gallagher, shaping his unique style of blues rock.

In between touring North America and producing at least one album a year, Bonamassa is involved in side projects including founding and overseeing the nonprofit organization Keeping The Blues Alive. The organization promotes the preservation of blues music for future generations, funds music scholarships, and encourages music education in public schools.

Although Bonamassa loves writing and producing his own music, he is most comfortable and confident when performing on stage. Known for his energy and showcase of raw talent while performing, he is considered one of the greatest guitarists of his generation.

Bonamassa is backed by legendary musicians including Reese Wyans (keyboard), Anton Fig (drums), Michael Rhodes (bass guitar), Lee Thornburg (trumpet) and Paulie Cerra (sax), as well as background singers to bring a whole new life to the show, which features new songs alongside career-spanning favorites.
