NPR’s 'Mountain Stage' Makes Its Way to UK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 31, 2016) — The University of Kentucky Singletary Center for the Arts in conjunction with WUKY 91.3 FM will present NPR’s "Mountain Stage with Larry Groce" at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 3.

"It's always a pleasure to take the show to a new place, but it's particularly exciting to be going to Lexington,” says "Mountain Stage" host and co-founder Larry Groce. “It's a lovely city in a beautiful part of the country, and WUKY is a great music station, so we expect its listeners to be enthusiastic.”

For more than 30 years, "Mountain Stage with Larry Groce" has been the home of live music on public radio. Produced in West Virginia and distributed by NPR, each two-hour episode of "Mountain Stage" can be heard every week on more than 150 stations across America, and around the world via NPR Music and www.mountainstage.org. Recorded in front of a live audience, "Mountain Stage" features performances from seasoned legends and emerging stars in genres ranging from folk, blues and country, to indie rock, synth pop, world music, alternative and beyond.

Sarah Jarosz, The Black Lillies, Steve Forbert, Over the Rhine and Robbie Fulks will be special guests for the Singletary Center performance. Tickets are $25 for this event.
