Staff Senate Hosts Chat With Provost Nov. 14

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2018) — The University of Kentucky Staff Senate will host an open forum with UK Provost David Blackwell from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the E. Britt Brockman, M.D. Senate Chamber in the Gatton Student Center.

The forum will provide faculty and staff with an opportunity to engage Provost Blackwell in informal dialogue and discussion.

"These conversations with Provost Blackwell are an important way for the Provost to interact with staff who ordinarily he might not reach," said Jon Gent, Staff Senate chair. "Indirectly, the provost is responsible for the largest bloc of staff at the university, somewhere around 8,000 regular positions. This gives everyone a chance to come and see what the provost is working towards, what he might be focusing on right now."

Gent believes that by expanding staff knowledge of the university and by creating a sense of transparency around the campus, staff will become more engaged and invested.

If interested in attending the event, attendees are asked to RSVP online.
