UK Job Club releases Spring 2025 schedule

Job Club is for professionals currently out of work, underemployed or seeking a career transition. In addition, recruiters and employers are welcome to attend and share active job leads with attendees. Photo courtesy of Envato elements.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 27, 2025) — The University of Kentucky Alumni Association and UK Human Resources STEPS Temporary Employment invite job seekers of all backgrounds and experiences to attend Job Club this spring. Job Club is free and open to the public. The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, from 9-10 a.m. ET, via Zoom.   

The purpose of Job Club is to provide a positive environment for job seekers to meet, connect, share and learn. Job Club is for motivated professionals currently out of work, underemployed or seeking a career transition. In addition, recruiters and employers can attend and share active job leads with Job Club attendees.

Jan. 28 — Beyond the Resume: Creating a Personal Brand that Resonates

Feb. 25 — “LinkedIn & Other Social Media for Job Search” 

Presented by Marie Zimenoff, CEO of Career Thought Leaders 

Hiring managers are flooded with applicants due to new automated application tools. This has sent them looking for other places to build community and have a constant pipeline of candidates. The good news is job seekers can benefit from this by joining and participating in the same communities where recruiters are sourcing their talent. Presented by JC Phelps, Statewide Training Coordinator, Small Business Development Center and Tonya Parsons, Business Coach, Small Business Development Center 

Essentials of Kentucky Entrepreneurship is a comprehensive workshop designed for aspiring entrepreneurs. This session will cover the foundational elements of starting a business in Kentucky, including key startup basics, effective market entry strategies, essential financial considerations and guidance on business formation structures. Register here. 

April 8 — “Job Search Strategy Tips from HR & Recruiter Panel”
