LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 26, 2026) — The University of Kentucky Staff Senate will host a DanceBlue Mini Marathon for staff 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, in the Charles T. Wethington Building, Room 127. All UK employees are invited to enjoy an afternoon of dancing and fun in support of the DanceBlue Golisano Children’s at UK Hematology/Oncology Clinic through the Golden Matrix Fund.

DanceBlue is a student-run organization at UK that seeks to raise money to fight against pediatric cancer through an annual 24-hour dance marathon. The Mini Marathon offers an extra opportunity for staff members to support the organization’s mission. Employees can attend the entire event or drop by to partake in line dancing, refreshments, letter writing for clinic patients and to learn more about DanceBlue. Donations are welcome and can be made regardless of attendance at the Mini Marathon.

For more details about the DanceBlue Mini Marathon, visit the Staff Senate website or donate through the organization’s donation portal. Donations and support are critical in the fight against pediatric cancer.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
