8 UK Pharmacy Services team members honored as UK HealthCare celebrates National Pharmacy Week
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 17, 2023) — In honor of National Pharmacy Week, Oct. 15-21, eight University of Kentucky Pharmacy Services employees are being recognized for their outstanding work and dedication to patient care. The four pharmacists and four technicians were nominated by Pharmacy Services leadership for the honor.

National Pharmacy Week is an opportunity for UK Pharmacy Services to recognize and honor all 1,200 of its team members for the exceptional work they do. A fast-growing department within UK HealthCare, Pharmacy Services includes eight retail pharmacy locations on and off campus, a Specialty/Home Delivery Pharmacy, a Durable Medical Equipment service, and multiple outpatient infusion centers. The department also includes inpatient pharmacies at Chandler and Good Samaritan hospitals, satellite pharmacies and specialized pharmacists serving numerous inpatient and ambulatory care areas; programs to promote proper medication policy, use and safety; and stewardship programs including antimicrobial, anticoagulation, glycemic control, nutrition, opioids and controlled substance surveillance.
The broad scope of the department allows Pharmacy Services to play a crucial role in the excellent patient care provided at UK HealthCare every day.
