LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 6, 2024) – Louis’ Flower Power, along with Holly Hill Co., will present a festive charity dinner to benefit the Kentucky Children’s Hospital's (KCH) Winter Wonderland Toy Drive and the Child Life Program.

The dinner will be 5 p.m. Dec. 12 in Fasig-Tipton’s Seattle Slew Room, 2400 Newtown Pike, and will include music by Colin and Harper Michael.

Beau Spicer, owner of Louis’ Flower Power and founder of its charitable arm Beau’s Buds, has been a longtime supporter of Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Last year, when admiring how nicely decorated and warmly intimate his shop was, he was inspired to host a fundraising dinner there. With a custom menu by the chefs Nick Zaluski and Micah Arvin from Holly Hill Events, the event collected thousands of dollar’s worth of toys and monetary donations for KCH. Inspired by its success, Spicer was motivated to make the next dinner even bigger.

“Being a business owner, it has given me an avenue to give back to the community,” he said. “Local chef and Holly Inn Events owner Ouita Michel is also involved with KCH, so the partnership seemed like a natural fit.” This year, “A Very Merry Christmas Dinner” is moving from his shop on Tates Creek Road to Fasig-Tipton and scaling up from a handful of tables to room for 150 people. Significant contributions from other community partners will help maximize the funds donated back to KCH.

“The stars aligned, and we’re going from a little event last to an amazing dinner at an amazing with location with amazing chefs,” Spicer said. “Through donations, volunteers, and working with other businesses, we’re able to get the food and staff costs down. At $150 a seat, $115 is going directly to Kentucky Children’s Hospital.”

The six-course prix fixe menu includes:

  • Amuse-bouche of hot brown gougere
  • Salad with mixed greens, marinated haricot vert, roasted tomatoes and Weisenberger cornbread croissants
  • Local squash and apple bisque, brown butter, burnt sage and toasted pepitas
  • Hominy fritter with braised local rabbit and green tomato chow chow
  • Carved beef tenderloin, Kenny’s cheddar and gouda potato gratin, roasted broccolini, sauce Diane and gremolata
  • Honey cake with homemade pecan ice cream and brown butter solids

You have to be excited for this menu,” said Spicer, “but most important is the opportunity to come together as a community to show we support and care about those around us.”

A vegetarian option is also available. Individual tickets as well as tables of eight are available to purchase here. Attendees are encouraged to bring new, unopened toys for the KCH toy drive. Anyone who is interested in donating but are unable to attend can drop of toys at Louis’ Flower Power Christmas Shop or Gotta Dance Studio on Tates Creek Road, or any of Ouita Michel’s family of restaurants.
