College of Dentistry Honors Grads in a Unique Way
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 13, 2020) - Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, colleges and universities across the U.S. are coming up with new, creative ways to honor students who are set to graduate. Faculty and staff in the University of Kentucky's College of Dentistry hosted an in-person, socially-distanced "send-off" for its graduating class on Saturday, May 9.
Dr. Jeffrey Okeson, interim dean, along with college faculty and staff, gathered at Kroger Field over the weekend to celebrate the graduates. The students and their families drove up to the ceremony, which was broadcast over the radio.
Sixty-eight students were honored as part of the College of Dentistry's Spring 2020 graduating class. They received their Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.).
