"American Idol" Finalists Benefit KCH

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 16, 2009) – The "American Idol" finalists are in town for the Idle Time concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at Lexington Opera House. Proceeds from the concert benefit the Kentucky Children's Hospital and Shirecrest Equine Education Center, Inc. Shirecrest and Lash's Lessons provide books and toys for children's hospitals and schools. Their mission is to improve literacy, healthy choices and healthy living. More than 70 pediatric specialists, 300 pediatric nurses and an impressive number of respiratory therapists, dieticians, social workers, pharmacists and child-life specialists are dedicated to caring for children. Each year, Kentucky Children's Hospital admits more than 6,000 children and serves another 60,000 through emergency care, clinics and outreach programs.
