Art of Making Miracles Benefits KCH

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 11, 2009) – The Art of Making Miracles, an annual fundraising event for the Makenna Foundation, will be held from 6 to 11 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11, on the grounds of RE/MAX Creative Realty located on Palumbo Drive at Man O’ War in Lexington.
Funds raised will benefit the Makenna David Pediatric Emergency Center at Kentucky Children's Hospital.
The Art of Making Miracles is the result of a dream of two parents to honor their child and a vision of a host of companies and individuals who desire to give something special back to the community.
"We are proud to have the opportunity to be a large part of the new state-of-the-art children’s emergency facility," said Sheila David, executive director of The Makenna Foundation. "Thanks to your help and contributions the Makenna David Pediatric Emergency Center, opening in 2010, will offer bright, colorful and cheerful surroundings specially designed for the care of Kentucky’s children."
The evening includes food, refreshments and live and silent auctions, as well as live music provided by the Swing Street Band.
"Over the years, The Makenna Foundation has made some significant contributions to Kentucky Children's Hospital," said Dr. Tim Bricker, Children's Miracle Network Professor and Chairman, Department of Pediatrics, University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and physician-in-chief of Kentucky Children’s Hospital. "We appreciate the hard work of Sheila and Greg David as well as the community leaders who sponsor this fun event. And, we are grateful for our new Makenna David Pediatric Emergency Center. After all, kids are our priority."
