Keeneland Concours "Bella Italia" Benefits KCH

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 12, 2010) − What could make a majestic castle courtyard look grand? The folks from Keeneland Concours d’Elegance would have you believe the answer lies in filling it with Maseratis, Ferraris, and other Italian automobiles. But if you want to decide for yourself, plan to attend Concours “Bella Italia” from 7 to 10 p.m. May 14, at CastlePost, 230 Pisgah Pike, Versailles. The event is presented by Maserati of Cincinnati. Proceeds benefit neonatal research at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
“Bella Italia will be a prelude to our July Concours d’Elegance when we feature Italy’s legendary Ferrari,” says Sue Entwisle, marketing director for Keeneland Concours. “Those of us on the Concours committee are so excited about this year’s show and couldn’t wait to get things started which is why we’ve planned this springtime event.”
Italian appetizers, a cash bar, and entertainment provided by University of Kentucky School of Music will add to this casual spring evening. The cost of the event is $75 per person or $100 at the gate.
“When we toured the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Kentucky Children’s Hospital, we were so impressed with the care provided by the health professionals," says Connie Jones, who co-chairs the annual Keeneland Concours d’Elegance with her husband Tom Jones. "The Keeneland Concours is proud to be able to support these dedicated and talented men and women who labor each and every day to care for Kentucky’s at-risk infants.”
"The Keeneland Concours is most celebrated in our community for giving so generously to the children of our state through Kentucky Children’s Hospital," said Dr. Tim Bricker, professor and Jacqueline A. Noonan Children's Miracle Network Endowed Chair of Pediatrics, University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and physician-in-chief of Kentucky Children's Hospital. "Events like Bella Italia are part of this effort and are also fantastic opportunities to experience gems in our community like CastlePost and celebrated automobiles from across the world."
