Dr. Dennie Jones to Speak at Relay for Life Tonight
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 10, 2011) — The University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center is a major sponsor of the 2011 Fayette County Relay for Life, and Dr. Dennie Jones will be a featured speaker at the "Fight Back" ceremony during the event.
The Relay for Life is an overnight relay that allows participants to celebrate those who have survived cancer and remember those who have lost their lives to the disease. As the signature activity of the American Cancer Society, it raises funds to support the Society's many programs.
"The Relay for Life is an amazing event that means so much to patients and families who have dealt with cancer," Jones said. "I'm honored to be asked to speak in the 'Fight Back' ceremony at this year's relay."
The 2011 Relay for Life will take place at Lexington Christian Academy, beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 10 and ending June 11 at noon.
