LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 7, 2025) — In continued celebration of the many talents of the faculty and staff of the University of Kentucky and UK HealthCare, Arts in HealthCare is issuing the 11th annual juried call for art. The purpose of this call is to encourage employees to think about and experience the healing power of art and understand how art enhances the healing environment.
The art call is open to all UK employees and their immediate family members. Participants may submit up to three pieces of two-dimensional art in any medium by emailing a photograph of each piece along with their completed submission form to: sarah.timmons@uky.edu.
The deadline to submit is April 4.
Selected artists will be notified via email by April 28. Notification will include instructions for delivering selected works to Arts in HealthCare. Art should be unframed and no larger than 20-by-30 inches. If an artist submits photography and it is selected, the photograph(s) will be printed by the Arts in HealthCare Department.
The art, selected by an independent jury, will be framed and exhibited in two employee galleries at UK Chandler Hospital Pavilion H and the Kentucky Clinic. After selection and exhibition in the employee galleries, the art may become part of the UK Arts in HealthCare permanent collection. Donated works will be moved to a clinical location with employee recognition.
