‘UK at the Half’: KCH staff put schools to the test for cardiac emergency response readiness
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 28, 2023) — According to the American Heart Association, every year there more than 300,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. On any given day, approximately 20% of a community is in its schools, including students, teachers, staff and family members.
For this “UK at the Half,” Shaun Mohan, M.D., electrophysiologist at Kentucky Children’s Hospital discusses how he and his team help schools develop emergency response plans in the event of a cardiac arrest.
