LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2026) — UK HealthCare is expanding access to care in central Kentucky with the opening of a new outpatient clinic in Richmond offering primary care, sports medicine, rehabilitation services, imaging and pharmacy services in one convenient location. The clinic, at 2091 Lantern Ridge Drive in Richmond, is celebrating its grand opening this week.

The 13,000-square-foot facility is designed to serve patients in Richmond, Berea and surrounding Madison County communities by bringing a wide range of UK HealthCare services closer to patients in the region. The new clinic offers primary care for all ages and sports medicine, including an early-morning sports injury walk-in clinic.

“We are excited to expand the high-quality services offered through UK HealthCare’s Family and Community Medicine clinics to Madison County and the surrounding region. By bringing a wide range of services together in one location, we can make it easier for patients of all ages to receive care close to home,” said Ginny Gottschalk, M.D., chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Patients will have access to preventive care, routine checkups, chronic disease management and treatment for acute illnesses. Primary care services will be available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

UK HealthCare — Richmond also strengthens access to orthopaedic and sports medicine care for athletes, active adults and patients recovering from injuries. Standard sports medicine hours are 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays, with walk-in services available 7:30-8:30 a.m. for broken bones, muscle sprains and strains, ligament tears and other sports injuries.

“This site will be critical to our mission to provide world-class musculoskeletal care to everyone in the Commonwealth, but especially to take care of our teammates and partners in Richmond and the surrounding area,” said Carter Cassidy, M.D., chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine. “This location will allow us to further support the athletes, families and community members we have served for years.”

In addition to physician services, patients will have access to imaging services, including mammography, X-ray and CT, with MRI coming soon. The Richmond location will also offer sports rehabilitation physical therapy and occupational hand therapy, and a full-service UK Retail Pharmacy that is open to everyone.

The new location is part of UK HealthCare’s continued effort to expand its ambulatory network and improve access to high-quality care across Kentucky. Madison County was identified as a priority area due to its growing population and concentration of existing patient demand for UK HealthCare services.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling 859-218-9300. Additional information about providers, services and opening details is available on the UK HealthCare — Richmond website.
