UK HealthCare rejoins Cigna network
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 2, 2026) — UK HealthCare has reached a new contract agreement with Cigna Healthcare, restoring in-network access for patients who carry Cigna health insurance.
The hospital and physician contract took effect April 27, and the provider reenrollment process was completed in June. Being in-network means Cigna members who receive care at UK HealthCare will generally pay lower out-of-pocket costs than they would at an out-of-network provider. Cigna members with questions about their coverage can call the number on the back of their insurance card.
The new contract comes after UK HealthCare left the Cigna network May 1, 2025, when the two organizations were unable to agree on contract terms. About 4,500 patients who were affected by that change will now have their in-network access restored.
